Tourist Information Centre to Continue Its Work at the Journey to Christmas Festival

According to the Moscow Сity Tourism Committee, the Tourist Information Centre located on the central venue of the Journey to Christmas festival will continue to work until the end of January. Earlier, Mayor of Moscow Sergey Sobyanin announced that the main festival of the winter was decided to extend until the 31st of January.

The Tourist Information Centre will continue to work at one of the pavilions of the Journey to Christmas festival on Manezhnaya Square until the end of the month. It will operate all days of the festival until the 31st of January inclusive.

Sergey Sobyanin earlier informed about the decision to extend the work of the main festival venues. In response to requests of Moscow residents, the city's main festival has been extended until the end of January.

The Information Centre is located near the Moscow Archaeology Museum and is open daily, from 11 a. m. to 9 p. m. on weekdays and from 10 a. m. to 10 p. m. on weekends. Here, tourists can find out about the events and attractions of Moscow, about the schedule of public transport and navigation around the city. The centre's operators consult guests of the capital in Russian and English.

In the Information Centre, tourists can get a free map of Moscow available in two formats (A3, as well as a folding pocket-sized map), with marked main points of interest of the city, as well as the travel brochures: Moscow: Insightful Sightseeing, Around Moscow with Children and Moscow: Events and Culture. These materials are available in Russian, English and Chinese and were compiled by the Moscow Committee for Tourism.

The pavilion also contains materials with information on walking routes in VDNKh, booklets of the State Historical Museum, the Jewish Museum and Tolerance Centre, the Moscow Cable Car, the PANORAMA360 observation deck, Moskvarium, as well as Zaryadye Park.

During the month of the Information centre's operation, its consultants helped more than 10 thousand tourists on Manezhnaya Square learn more not only about holiday events but also on where they can find entertainment to their liking.

The Journey to Christmas festival began on the 13th of December 2019. 81 holiday venues have been opened across the city. Earlier, Sergey Sobyanin announced that the Journey to Christmas festival had already been visited by over 21 million people.

The Moscow Committee for Tourism has calculated the number the hashtag #Moscow was used in Russian, English, French, German and Spanish. From the 1st to the 8th of January, the Russian capital has been mentioned more than 800 thousand times on public social media profiles on Instagram, OK.ru, VK, and Twitter.
