“Your Moscow”: Tourists to Learn About Burning Events and Unconventional Routes of the Capital

The Moscow City Tourism Committee together with the ANO Moscow Project Office for Tourism and Hospitality Development and Rambler Group have launched an informational project to render help to travelers from Russian regions with capital exploration. The project would be also interesting for Moscovites, who will be able to discover the metropolis in a completely different way and get a special experience when exploring the city. The project was launched on the website of “Afisha Daily” magazine.

The “Your Moscow” special project was prepared to attract tourists from other cities of Russia, but its materials would be of keen interest to the residents of the capital as well. It will share information about current events and new unconventional city routes. Moscow and regional designers, journalists, famous photographers and popular bloggers contribute to the generation of materials.

“Discover your Moscow! Paint in colors your trip to the Capital” – the motto of the special project claims. Articles, bloggers’ reviews, selections, and star-made podcasts will help the guests of the city creating a travel plan, learn about some low-key metropolitan attractions and routes.

Among the interesting formats, there is a series of urban monopodcasts. The author of the first episode is a poet and musician Andrey Lysikov, known by his stage name Dolphin. He saunters through autumn Moscow, indulges in retrospections of his youth and narrates about the most diverse places of the city following his artistic manner. The second episode of the podcast is hosted by a famous architect Sergey Choban, who describes places in Moscow he enjoys to visit and tells lots of curious stories about them.

On the “Afisha Daily” website in the “Children” section, one can read all about the legendary and modern places that will surely surprise a today child at the sight. For example, the “Food” section offers a test that users can take to check their knowledge of the metropolitan restaurants menu prices and find them rather affordable, and also it introduces the restaurants, so anyone is able to learn how to arrange a small gastronomic vacation to cherish oneself. From the articles, readers will learn everything about the secrets of metropolitan shopping, unusual souvenirs and useful gifts to buy while in Moscow. A comprehensive guide to city entertainment and places of interest open any time of day or night can also be found in the “Walking tours” section. It also contains the impressions of the city left by regional bloggers who give their recommendations and share their own routes in Moscow. The project will be added to as new materials are available.

The visuals for the design of the project main page were created by the artist Max Goshko-Dankov. He is the author for many artworks, including original Big Coloring Walls project on the streets of Moscow. In order to “colorize” Moscow as part of an online project, users should read all the materials, after that the images by the artist will turn into full-colored objects.

The Moscow Сity Tourism Committee forms a strong brand and creates a positive image of the capital as a tourist center both in Russia and at the international arena. This incentive comes to live through legislative initiatives, congress and exhibition activities, event and image projects in the field of tourism industry.

The Project Office for the Development of Tourism and Hospitality in Moscow. An independent nonprofit organization which was established in November 2018 to enable the development of the Russian capital as an international touristic and cultural center.
