Встреча с Послом КНР в России: продвижение туристических продуктов и перспективы сотрудничества

“China is a traditional leader among countries around the world by the number of tourist arrivals to Moscow. We are interested in the further strengthening of a dialog between our countries and in mutual promotion of our capitals as promising tourist destinations. Moscow will continue working on attracting guests from China, including individual tourists for whom unique impressions are the most important,” noted Ekaterina Pronicheva.

“Development of the relationship between countries relies upon people, and tourism plays here an important role. I’m sure that the events planned for 2020 will serve for strengthening of cooperation and for increase of the two-way tourist flow between our countries and capitals,” shared Zhang Hanhui.

Ekaterina Pronicheva reported about activities of the Moscow City Tourism Committee and new tourist services in Moscow.

In September 2019, the Committee launched official accounts of the Russian capital on Chinese social media: WeChat (探索莫斯科旅游) and Weibo (探索莫斯科). These accounts will help tourists to schedule their travels and will serve for city guides for those who are planning to visit Moscow. Using the accounts, travelers from China can explore information about the city’s offers for tourists in the media landscape familiar to them.

During the meeting, the parties addressed issues of providing high-quality professional services to those Chinese tourists who arrive to Moscow in groups. Thanks to the agreement between the Russian and the Chinese governments on visa exemptions for tourist groups dated February 29, 2000, the number of tourists groups arriving from China to Moscow grows steadily. In the first half of 2019, it exceeded 194 thousand people, that is by 23 % higher than in the same period of 2018.

Today, tourists from China are leaders by the number of international visits to the Russian capital. In 2018, 803.6 thousand of them arrived to Moscow, and in the first half of 2019 their number reached 397.2 thousand people.

The Moscow government actively expands collaboration with Chinese cities and regions as part of the interregional cooperation between China and Russia while celebrating the 70th anniversary of establishment of diplomatic relations between the two countries.

In June 2019, Moscow presented its potential for tourism at Beijing International Tourism Expo (BITE) and won the Best Creative Award for the most creative presentation.

Besides, on June 19 BJ EXPO convention center and VDNH signed a Memorandum on long-term cooperation in the field of conference and exhibition activities. The signing ceremony associated with the 80th anniversary of VDNH was
held at the stand of Moscow.
