“Today Moscow is able to surprise any tourist with its event program, architecture, cultural projects, gastronomy and unique atmosphere. The Putevodnaya Zvezda Award winners are creating comfort to make the capital a popular travel destination. This capital’s hospitality standard should be kept at a highest level. By joining our efforts we want to ensure that every tourist and every resident adores Moscow, the best city of the world,” Yekaterina Pronicheva, Chairman of the Moscow City Tourism Committee, noted.

The Jubilee Putevodnaya Zvezda Award became a special and memorable event. The winners were chosen in 15 categories, which for the first time were combined into five fields: “Accommodation”, “Leisure”, “Gastronomy”, “Comfort and Impressions”, “Media”, and special categories. Also for the first time, the competition had such categories, as “Children First” and “Moscow Online”. Traditionally, the winners were chosen by an expert council, although residents’ opinion counted as well: on the “Active Citizen” project web site, Muscovites voted for the best festivals and cultural projects, as well as for the best sites worth visiting with children.

Moscow Musical Theatre Helikon-Opera was selected as the awards ceremony venue. It is located in one of the oldest Moscow mansions, and the ceremony was held in a form of literary-theatrical readings from the popular Moscow project “Besprintsypniye chteniya”. It was presented by its resident and co-founder, writer Alexander Tsypkin and famous artists and residents Anna Mikhalkova and Evgeny Stychkin. Short stories by Alexander Tsypkin, Alexander Malenkov and Alexander Snegiryov were read from the theater’s stage. The main common idea of all stories were the love for Moscow.

More than 500 persons were special guests of the ceremony. Among them were representatives of the travel industry, such as hotel chains and capital’s attractions general managers, publishers, chief editors of travel channels and magazines, TV hosts, hospitality business experts, etc.
